Unalloyed Zirconium:
R60700(Zr-0) / R60701 / R60702(Zr-1): This series consists of commercial-grade pure zirconium, which exhibits extremely high chemical inertness. In environments containing strong acids (sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid) and strong alkalis, its corrosion resistance far exceeds that of ordinary stainless steel and nickel-based alloys, making it a critical material choice for chemical corrosion-resistant equipment.
Zirconium Alloys:
1. R60704(Zr-3): Zirconium-tin alloy. By adding elements such as tin (Sn), this alloy enhances mechanical strength and creep resistance while retaining zirconium’s excellent corrosion resistance, thereby balancing structural strength with chemical stability.
2. R60705 (Zr-5): Zirconium-Niobium Alloy (Zr-Nb 2.5%). As a high-strength industrial zirconium alloy, it offers excellent tensile strength and high-temperature stability, making it particularly suitable for industrial components with stringent requirements for pressure resistance and structural strength.
The Zirconium plates supplied for this project strictly adhere to the following internationally recognized standards. These standards cover the entire process—from raw material melting and processing to final product inspection—ensuring the material is suitable for demanding industrial corrosive environments.
These are the core standards defining the physical properties, chemical composition, and dimensional tolerances of the plates:
ASTM B551 / B551M: Standard Specification for Zirconium and Zirconium Alloy Strip, Sheet, and Plate for industrial applications.
ASME SB551: Standard Specification for Zirconium and Zirconium Alloy Plate, Sheet, and Strip for boilers and pressure vessels.
Note: This standard is mandatory when Zirconium plates are used in the fabrication of pressure vessels compliant with the ASME Code. Its technical requirements are generally identical to ASTM B551 but are subject to ASME quality system oversight.
To ensure material purity and specifically exclude nuclear-grade influences, traceability to the melting stage is essential:
ASTM B494 / B494M: Standard Specification for Zirconium and Zirconium Alloy Ingots for industrial service. All plates are processed from vacuum arc remelted (VAR) ingots compliant with this standard.
ASTM B495: Standard Specification for Zirconium and Zirconium Alloy Sponge for industrial service. As the primary form for ingot production, this ensures the baseline chemical purity of the metal.
EN 10204 3.1: Material Inspection Certificate standard. This ensures each batch of plates is fully traceable to the original Heat Number and is provided with a complete report of chemical composition and mechanical properties.
ASTM E8 / E8M: Standard Test Methods for Tension Testing of Metallic Materials, used to verify the tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation of the plates.
High-Purity Melting & Processing: Utilizing advanced vacuum melting (VAR/EB Melting) technology to produce high-purity zirconium ingots. Subsequently, rigorously controlled forging, hot rolling, and precision cold rolling processes ensure the plate's density, uniformity, and excellent mechanical properties.
Precision Heat Treatment: Implementing precise annealing treatments to relieve processing stress, optimize grain structure, and ensure the material's ductility and long-term stability.
Raw Material Inspection: Strict chemical composition analysis (Spectro Test), including control over trace impurities.
Internal Flaw Detection: Ultrasonic Testing (UT) is performed on finished plates to ensure the absence of internal cracks, inclusions, porosity, and other defects.
Geometric Dimensions & Surface Quality Inspection: Precise measurement of thickness, width, length, flatness, and high-precision visual and automated inspection for surface defects (e.g., scratches, indentations).
Mechanical Properties Testing: Tensile Test (Elongation, Yield Strength, Tensile Strength), Hardness Test, Bend Test, etc.
Metallographic & Corrosion Tests: Metallographic Analysis (for microstructure evaluation), Corrosion Test in specific corrosive media (e.g., ASTM G28, G48) to verify durability in harsh chemical environments.
Nuclear-Grade Performance Testing: (If supplying nuclear-grade zirconium) Low thermal neutron capture cross-section testing can be performed.
Traceability: Comprehensive material reports are provided, ensuring complete traceability from raw material to final plate/sheet, with support for independent third-party certification.
Extensive Experience: Specialized in the R&D and manufacturing of high-quality zirconium plates/sheets for over 19 years, accumulating vast technical expertise and rigorous quality control experience in areas such as nuclear-grade materials, extreme corrosion environment materials, and precision rolling techniques.
Superior Melting & Processing: Utilizing advanced Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR) or Electron Beam (EB) Melting ensures high-purity and dense zirconium ingots. These are then processed through precision hot and cold rolling to guarantee the plate's dimensional accuracy, flatness, and performance.
Quality Assurance: All products are accompanied by comprehensive test reports, and independent third-party certifications (e.g., TUV, SGS, BV, Lloyd's Register) are readily available upon request, to ensure product quality strictly conforms to relevant standards and is committed to exceeding customer expectations.
ISO 9001:2015 Certified Facility: Strictly adhering to international quality management systems, we rigorously follow high standards and pursue continuous improvement at every step from raw material procurement to finished product delivery.
